Is their any news on whether or not a new download from the xbox 360 or PS3 will allow us to start at the ending when you finish the game or on the new DLC coming out in a couple weeks?

Not sure I understand, but if you mean playing after the game's ending, then no, it won't be happening.

I believe they have specifically stated they won't make a DLC "like Broken Steel". They could make one where you could play after the end but not in the Mojave but in a new area (ending slides barely have to be taken into account). That would be acceptable. But still, I really wouldn't count on it,.

And you base that on what?

Obsidian clearly put a lot of effort into the storyline of New Vegas and It's multiple endings. For them to bow to the handful of whining and make a post-ending DLC would would display a complete lack of pride in their own work as any post-ending DLC would be unable to reflect any of the ingame decisions in a satisfactory manner.

There are four main endings, with four different outcomes, plus numerous other gameplay choices that effect the wasteland. No way they could accurately reflect all that into a little DLC.
