I loved the water. So much fresh water! You can drink it anytime you want. Tons and tons of fresh fruits and natural ingredients. Those were pretty hard to find in Mojave Wasteland. Cave fungus! Green Gecko Hide!
I found Desert Ranger armor. It looks great and it's faction neutral. Later I got Joshua Graham's Armor. Awesome stats. Great for my crit maximizing build. This will probably be my main armor until the end. Until now I've been wearing space suit, which has 10 DT and is very light.
I was following the story of the guy who left all the diary entries in the caves. I talked to Daniel about the religion of the Sorrows and all that. I didn't pay too much attention to it. Toward the end I became more and more interested in the story this survivalist guy. I was interested enough so that I kept looking for all the terminals and the cache instead of just finishing the story. Meanwhile, Waking Cloud is following me and constantly praying to her god, The Father in the Caves. And it suddenly hit me: that this dude is the god she has been praying to all along. Whoa. It gave me serious goosebumps. I'm glad I wasn't exposed to this spoiler before playing the game.
That was the best part of the DLC.
I even enjoyed the final battle. I was all in favor of Sorrows staying and fighting, and getting rid of the invaders. I was also very set on killing Salt Upon Wounds. I gave Joshua an enthusiastic thumbs up to cold blooded execution when I had the choice. It felt good. I don't care about honorable battles and all that [censored]. Kill your enemy. Get the job done. The Father would have wanted it that way. He would have said to be kind to your kin, and to be merciless to the invaders.
In the end, Honest Heart felt like a refreshing vacation from the dreary land of the Mojave Wasteland.
