The default name for the Champion of Cyrodiil is Bendu Olo? Please say that I'm not the only one who didn't know this!

No, its the test character for the devs. Skyrim and Morrowind had it:

No, it's the default preset/character of your character when you first create a new game.

It could be, but it's not the default name. It has nothing to do with the character, it does in Oblivion. Look up Bendu Olo.

Oblivion's default character's name is Bendu Olo. I never knew that and the news struck me as quite odd. It's not a very heroic name is it?
