Why no let us have proper 3D?

Put simply, the 3D/2.5D in Crysis 2 is was horrible, and so is this. I can see the reason for it, the game is pretty hefty, but in my opinion its way better to play on all low in proper 3D, than play it at ultra with an effect that just looks like a kids popup book.

Its not like the game takes that much to run where proper 3D would be completely unmanageable. A single high end card can achive 50+ FPS with the game max'd and no AA in 2D, if 3D took 60% of performance then people with 680's, 7970's and the like can still play at medium, the game still looks great and its not like SLI/Crossfire systems are some ultra rare mega machine.

Atleast give the option to get rid of it, so then people with weaker systems can get by on the 2.5D, then people with more powerful systems can get the full 3D experiance. Even if the graphics are broken in proper 3D, with things not rendering right or HUD being at screen depth, just let the community fix it rather than completly block access to it.

Is it really that hard to have a yes/no option in the menus for using the in game 3D or driver 3D?
