Uber biased Article on Gamespy (You'll Laugh)

Post » Sat Feb 16, 2013 5:57 pm

So i stumbled on this article on Gamespy, where the guy seems he cant get his mind out of the dirt, making ridiculous assumptions, as "Taking on the North Korean army in Crysis is a blast, largely because of their competent AI and the suite of tools that you can bring to bear against them."Quite silly to the point where he says Crytek in fact downgraded AI in Crysis 3. It seems to be very apparent he holds a form of hatred towards C 2&3, and glorifys the original.

He then goes on to insult Crytek and accusing the Bow of being a simple popular gimmck, since bows became increasingly popular since the hunger games; and offer no new useful function. Then goes on to jest on Crytek's "next gen" 3.0 grass, and how no matter how advanced it gets, it will always simply be grass. My brain just started turning into pudding half way, see if you can keep up.

Seriously, read it, you'll at least make a chuckle.

I will agree with Gamespot that the Bow IS a popular gimmick. It's a pre-order incentive, handles like absolute rubbish in multiplayer compared to any other weapon, and only looks like fun to use in campaign because it 1-shots most enemies. I would've been 100% fine with that since the campaign offers a massive boatload of other weapons to play with, except that for some peculiar reason the marketing department put the bow on some kind of pedestal and focused all the spotlights on the damn thing.
I have no clue about this whole "hunter" thing either (not the game mode, the concept) because it looks like it was forced to go along with the bow to make something marketable. So if I was using a regular gun instead of a bow then...I'm not a hunter? Lol.

Can't comment on AI because that largely comes down to difficulty settings. There were also some AI mods in Crysis, rather nightmare'ish to play against.

Didn't chuckle, seems like a reasonable article that offers opinions that mirror the majority of people's who played the original crysis and crysis 2...

Being a hunter implies not be silent? With the bow have returned to hunting there for years back with the aim of being the most mobile and silent. With your gun you may not be as quiet with the bow. The bow hunter really needed to play otherwise it is doomed to failure.

I'm writing this down on my Notepad Zuvial, let me see...

Zuvial wrote "handles like absolute rubbish in multiplayer compared to any other weapon"

Alright, i'll make this interesting, on release we can play a friendly 1v1 match, you may select any loadout weapon you please, I will only use the bow. If you win, i will accept your claim, but if I win, you must retract your post.

Nevermind the ping, we'll figure somthing out. I always thought the thing was blisteringly OP.

On the console...I can see the bow being hard to use.

On the PC.....I mean come on, it can be a one shot kill and it's NOT hard to be precise with the mouse (I'm a PC gamer).

The Korean AI was much better than Crysis 2s Cell AI, and Crysis 3s AI doesn't look any better =\
