Gods Turning Their Backs

This is driving me slightly crazy (only slightly). It could very well be nothing at all, but it's so unusual that I have to ask the Lore Forum's opinion.

In Skyrim, along the northern coast of the province, between Dawnstar and Winterhold, there is a Statue of Talos just sitting on a ice shelf. No ruins nearby, nothing to suggest why it is there. More then that however, is the fact that approaching the Statue, the shrine you receive a blessing from is behind Talos unlike every other shrine to him I've discovered in the game. At this shrine, Talos is facing away from the player.

Could there be some significance to this? (Much like how the Talos Statue and Shrine at Bloated Man's Grotto literally vanishes when entering the Grotto during the quest Ill Met by Moonlight)

More then that, the Talos statue's placement to its shrine mirrors http://minus.com/l5gN3eXKxeFYn. I mean it is spot on perfect. Talos faces away from the player at the exact angle Azura faces away from Talos.

Am I just insane, or is there some deeper meaning here?
