Tessellation

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 10:00 am

Am I missing something here, just wandering around the welcome to the jungle level with everything set to very high and I am seeing no examples of it , the brick and foliage textures are as flat as they are on high settings.

Anyone able to provide a screenshot of what I should be seeing?

Your correct it seems to not be working at all or not implemented. I saw one instance of the tech displayed in their Cryengine 3 demo, and thats the POM on a SINGLE tree when your approaching the DAM. Really hope its added soon.

Seems like they did it again. We'll probably get a tessellation patch. I gave up my 2 gtx 295's for this. It better be worth it because from what i can see I could've easily have run this on my dx10 cards. In multiplayer I've seen a few instances of pom and maybe some tess. not sure because I couldn't sit still long enough to really look.

Only difference i notice in those pics are smoothness on the mushrooms. But yeah, ive yet to see an example of tesselation during gameplay.

There a FEW instances, I was expecting something greater or equal to Crysis 2. Say what you will about Crysis 2, but after the DX11 patch it looked stunning. Almost EVERY texture was tessellated, bricks POPPING out, rocks, dirt, it was amazing.

There is very little if any of that going on in Crysis 3. Now it still looks amazing, but I just was hoping for those amazing Brick and wall tessellated textures to appear in Crysis 3 I guess :(
