I play a style in which I see my character as a separate entity with whom I share their experiences and feelings. If they are happy, sad, frightened, I am there with them feeling the same thing. This lead to using third party view most of the time and that lead to sometimes seeing them standing and staring like zombies. The lack of any autonomous movement on their part became more and more apparent with the extended use of third party view. It grew harder to see them as anything but moveable dummies.
I think a mod that added a certain amount of autonomous movement to the PC would revitalize the game for me. Stretching, yawning, scratching, whatever, not as poses for the camera but as ongoing idle movements would make a big difference for me. I can even envision scripts such that if they are in their home town and they have been idle for a period of time, they go home or to one of their faction's guild halls. In the wild, if they detect a threat, they might automatically cast a certain spell, draw a weapon, or drop into sneak mode.
I know someone will think. "Why don't you make such a mod if that's what you want." I've looked into it and concluded that it would take far too long for me to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for such a project.
I'm curious what might bring you who have quit playing but can't get the game out of your system, back to the game.
