Crytek DEVS Attendtion please! SP, MP and graphic issues!

Post » Sun Feb 24, 2013 5:15 am

i see the DEVS pretty active when its comes for the MP side of the game! But what about the main issues? Why noone care to answer to them?

we need this problems solved in ASAP:

1:Graphic issues!

2: Driver issues!

3: AMD & Nvidia card related issues

4: audio bugs!

5: servers, connections, and lag issues!

6: immediate path for the game, the "pressure on pc players" way too much, the game quitting on his own, and crashing several times!

I'd like to hear answers from the Crytek, their Devs, and not from moderators and "crytek veterans" how disturbing, and bothersome my topic is!

we need this problems solved in ASAP:

1:Graphic issues!

2: Driver issues! - Driver crashing and DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED

3: AMD & Nvidia card related issues - Same as above

4: audio bugs!

5: servers, connections, and lag issues!

6: immediate path for the game, the "pressure on pc players" way too much, the game quitting on his own, and crashing several times!

When I played the Beta, I was getting the DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED crash constantly which sometimes led to a BSOD if the driver didn't manage to restart. Don't know how it's in the full game personally, but from what I read, a lot of people are getting the crashes in the full game, and it's not an overclocked card or faulty PSU, as that would mean half of this forum are with broken graphics cards.

This is a driver related issue, because the 13.1 driver does NOT suffer from this issue, but likely has lower performance. Currently ALL 13.2 beta drivers, as well as Nvidia drivers have this issue.
Crytek MUST tell AMD and Nvidia to investigate the issue. But Crytek must also find a solution on their end, in case the cause of the crashing is on their end.

Again, it's not an unstable OC or faulty card - most of the time!

Everyone running the AMD CCC 13.1 isn't having the issue. Everyone with an Nvidia and i-series proc (1st gen and 2nd gen) are getting knocked silly. Haven't seen anyone post with an AMD proc/chipset and Nvidia GPU having problems.

When I was playing the open beta, I had no problems with 13.1 but had REALLY terrible FPS.

13.2 beta 1,2,3,4 improved the performance, but I had tons of crashes every 10-15 minutes(DXGI_DEVICE_REMOVED i.e a driver crash).

So no, it's not just Nvidia, nor is it just AMD, nor is it unstable OC or faulty card.

I had no issues during the OB. I have no issues now. My framerates are good and stable (for the most part) and the only time I ever have problems is if my goofy self leaves something running in the background besides a browser and mumble (even then, it's not too terrible; but data mining murders me).

My roommate, who bought my 2 7850's that I used during OB (I now have a 7970, got it just in time for C3 release! Yay!) has no issues with anything either. But then, I built and optimized both systems and driver tweaks (very minor ones that relate to multiple monitor setups). So I'm pretty sure it's just drivers.

Try to remember: the 13.2 is a Beta driver; it's missing a bunch of stuff.

The Beta driver is NOT missing stuff. The beta driver has EXPERIMENTAL code, or at least usable new code to a point, but with all the newer versions released, you would've expected it to be fixed...

Some people are saying the crashes are affecting the 7k series waaay less, if at all. I have a 5870.

Stop being so silly. Of course they do! You need to understand how long it takes to make a patch:
1. Bug is reported.
2. Bug is listed on tracker, given level of priority.
3. Person(s) are assigned to work on bug.
4. Bug is fixed, pushed to internal branch.
5. Q&A tests to check if it is fixed, and if it broke anything else in the process.
6. Q&A reports back if they found any other bugs.
7. Multiple developers are pushing to the developer branch, each new build requires testing.
8. Gets to a point where 10-50 bugs are fixed, decision made to launch patch.
9. Build is checked for errors.
10. Launched to public.

All of this takes a lot of time.

I have no issues with the game, running latest Nvidia drivers.

These days, most of these steps are skipped i.e bugfixes are rushed.
