I always like to enjoy some time alone in the wasteland with each game and since you start alone, usually there's plenty of that. But even after I've located my companions, I occasionally tell them to hit the road so I can soak in the lonely atmosphere again.

Anyone else do this?

Fallout 1 & 2 are an exception though, since if it weren't for Cassidy, Sulik or Tycho or a number of others my Vault Dweller and Chosen One would be dead.

I'm talking more for FO3 & New Vegas. I love to meet them and follow through their personal quests, but companions can make the game a little too easy and again, it's just fun to be alone.

So do you prefer to be alone or with company?
