extreme bad performance and framedrops on 560 ti 448!

Post » Sun Feb 24, 2013 2:03 am

yea well, read the topic..
- 560 ti 448 cores limited edition
- amd fx 4100 (4x 3,6 ghz)
- 8 gigs of 1600 mhz ram
- 750w brand powersupply
- win7 x64 ultimate

game running like shi*! EVERYTHING IS SET TO LOW, even texture quality!
in SP i get 80 to 50 fps and sometimes random drops to even lower frames per sec..
in dense jungle levels i get about 42.
MP performs even worse, on museum i get about 40, sometimes 30, also microstuttering sometimes and random framedrops, as described in sp, which makes multiplayer allmost no fun.
i know the card isnt performing as it should, so i tried various steps:
- 314.07 beta driver installed
- NEWEST dx and mainboard drivers
- no intense applications running
- disabled all programs with d3d overlays (fraps, msi afterburner etc..)
- driver set to max performance
- lowered the clock from my OCed card to default,
- measured the gpu/cpu/ram usage with following results:

usage gets from 30 to 60%, when looking in heavy areas i get about 30% and if im looking at the sky/ground around 55%
cpu usage goes around 75% when action happens and when looking in heavy areas with much grass and objects and to 30% when looking at the sky/ground
ram usage always stays about 1,14 GB, 3,55 used for the whole system out of 8

the cpu seems to bottleneck the GPU somehow, but i dont understand how, since other people dont seem to have the problem with slower GPUs.

any help on that?

The FX-4100 is definitely a bottleneck in this game, something is holding back the GPU. Check your temperatures and make sure there isn't any throttling. If temperatures are fine, OC your CPU to 4.4ghz and see if you get any improvements.

thx for the fast reply.
OC the CPU from 3,6 to 3,86 ghz, no change. cpu temps perfectly fine, gpu doesnt exceed 66°C due to not using 100% of it.
if crysis WOULD use a 100% of the GPU, id get a MAXIMUM of 80°C, never more.
