Anyway, this got me to thinking...what would university life be like in Elsweyr?
For most rural Khajiit, I think we can be fairly certain that formal education doesn't exist, and Khajiit learn all they need to know from their parents and the elders of their villages.
For urban Khajiit, however, I find it likely that some university system would be in place. But what would this look like for Khajiit? I have a hard time believing that a Khajiit university would look much like our typical idea of one. What do classes look like? Are there any classes at all? What is taught there? What are the disciplines? Are there disciplines? How do the Khajiit split up the schools of magic? Do they split up the schools of magic?
I feel the history of such schools would likely be tied in some way to the distant Khajiit past where every tribe had its own role, and carried out that role for the benefit of every tribe. Perhaps, after this system was left in ruin following the Thrassian Plague, schools were needed to teach the Khajiit of the two remaining tribes how to perform these other roles. So perhaps the disciplines are split up along the lines of the ancient tribes, and may still even bear their name? I've also considered Torval as a likely center for this sort of activity, being the spiritual and political center of Elsweyr after all. Besides, many places in Torval do not permit foreigners, so perhaps it is a place to keep Khajiiti secrets? Not that a university is all about keeping secrets, quite the opposite actually.
Thoughts?
