Xbox 360 - Data-Patch-A DEFECTIVE

Post » Mon Feb 25, 2013 7:42 am

Both the Bow ADS speed adjustment and the Pinger Turn Speed Adjustments from Data Patch A do not work (or they just weren't adjusted in the first place).

This is NOT about the Patch not being online, or me not being able to download it. The Patch shows as online (see vid below), but two of the alleged changes it should make DO NOT WORK.

The Bow:

The Bow was supposed to get a reduction of ADS sensitivity independently of other weapons. It didn't.
...
Patch A changelist:[/b]
...
? Predator Bow ADS sensitivity reduced
...

Video of retail with online Data Patch, testing the time it takes to do a 360° turn in ADS with the (zoomed) Bow and an unzoomed pistol:

To compare, here's the same test done in the Beta (but without the fancy annotations...):

And the result: Nothing. Has. Changed.

Crytek acknowledged the issue with the Bow during the Beta and repeatedly and specifically mentioned that the bow would get and did get a separate ADS change. Only the bow. Not the other weapons.

That would mean there would HAVE to be a difference in Bow ADS speed between the pure Beta (the Xbox NEVER got the Data Patch back then) and the retail version WITH the Data Patch, specifically when compared to other weapons. But there isn't. The speed for a 360° turn in ADS with the Zoomed Bow and an Un-Zoomed weapon are still the same.

Why is that wrong?

Because the speed on-screen distance is traveled by the aim reticule should be uniform between zoom stages. If one weapon has higher zoom than another weapon, it should also take a longer time to make a full 360° turn. Because the higher zoom stretches the perceived distance on-screen that has to be traversed.
But the higher-zoomed Bow takes the same time as the no-zoom nova to do an ADS 360° turn.

The Pinger:

? Pinger head rotation speed increased
...

Also not working:

I don't know if it's as slow as in the Beta, but it sure seems like it:

Turns with anolog stick fully tilted to one side. The jerky movement comes from the Pinger moving its legs when turning...

I had one game where the Pinger turned a lot faster than in the Beta, Friday, Feb. 22nd, morning around 3:00 am CET. Another game, two hours later and it was back to the slow Beta speed and has been ever since.

There are no such complaints that I found for the PS3 or PC versions, and since there already was a problem during the Beta of Xbox getting these Data Patches, I suspect it's an Xbox only issue/bug.

Now, I know how this goes:

Someone from Crytek will eventually read this, pick up his phone, make a call and say:
"Hey, dude, there's someone posting about issues with the Xbox Data Patch. Are there issues with the Xbox Data Patch?"
And the dude will look at his computer, check the status of the Data Patches and say:
"No, impossible. The Patches are all online."
"Thought so. Let's just forget I even asked."
"Asked what?"
"Exactly."

But the issue here is not that the patch is not online, but that the two changes to turn speed (Bow ADS and Pinger) are NOT working. I have the videos to proof that.

And I would really, really appreciate some kind of acknowledgement of this issue. Xbox already got screwed with the Data Patches during the Beta, but this is the retail version. The version people payed a lot of money for. I don't expect every change I want to be made, but I DO expect the changes you say you made to actually work.

Thank you.

Well, the Xbox SP Campaign Bow ADS is just as bad. And I mean, exactly this bad.

Seriously, how hard can it be?
