Nomad, Psycho and Helena-Bridge between Crysis and Crysis 2

Post » Mon Feb 25, 2013 9:04 am

FINALLY! If you want to know what really happened to Nomad, Pshyco and Helena when they went back to the Island, take a look at this:

Crysis 2 will soon be landing on the market, and to celebrate its impending arrival, comic book publisher IDW announced that there will be a mini-series comic based on the famed game franchise.

The Crysis-based comic will have six issues, which will run monthly beginning the month of June. According to IDW, it will be featuring the events that transpired in both Crysis 1 and 2, which should be able to effectively bridge both games. If you're keen to find out what exactly happened after that incident on the Pacific Island, this should be the closest you can get to finding an answer.

Penning the comic mini-series is no other than Richard Morgan himself, Crysis 2 writer. Illustration falls on the hands of Peter Bergting. By the time the Crysis comic book comes out, you should have finished Crysis 2 by then. This, therefore, is a good time to look back on the events that's passed in the Crysis universe.

They want to keep the franchise in your stream of consciousness, and this should be a good way to do it.

The Crysis Comic will have 6 issues, with 2 already writen, as one issues comes every month, starting this June.

IMO, Crysis did not fail "story-wise", it failed "Story-telling" wise. Everything is explained in the most unmemorable, boring and forgettable way possible.

Starting with the fact that Alcatraz is a mute puppet. I know about the vocal chords rupture. Gay-ass excuse for piss-poor storytelling. That's what made the Crysis series from "immersive, with memorable characters you will remember" to "lol Modern Warfare 2".

I am going to get extreme flak for this, but Black Ops had much better storytelling. Reznov and Mason are much more memorable than Alcatraz because they have a personality and a voice. And a face, but Nomad didn't have that and he still kicked ass.

Alcatraz isnt mute or a puppet, you forget hes just a noob in the suit, i mean the timespan of the game is like 2 days, he dosnt know how to access the suits voice synthesizer until the end, and the suit run "SECOND", just as a advisor and giving him mission directives. He is in complete control, although the suit is making him into a perfect soldier, spoiler alert, humans arnt perfect. Hows the suit doing this then.......... (its changing him)

Why do people hate mute protagonists so much? When your character doesn't speak, it's better because it's more immersive. You become the character. What he knows, you know and vice versa.
That was the reason why Half Life 2 was so good
