Who or what is Silverback?

Post » Tue Feb 26, 2013 2:11 am

In the datapads several references are made to a CELL operative named Silverback (deployred and not recallable at the time and therefore can not be deployed to New York). In the whole list with names of Nanosuit operatives it seems that there are still several active Nanosuits, a lot of them have the reference to be part of the rebels. Prophet is listed as Captive and Nomads data is redacted/removed.

Then there is the reference to a nanosuit operative named Silverback. I wonder who this is. Could it secretly be Nomad, maybe Lockhart or even Nathan Gould?

I have barely played the single player (I'm in the part with the car), but maybe it's that German nano suit designer and that's his "code name" if he's using the suit?

It COULD be Nomad - way off the grid (further off the grid than even Prophet went between Warhead and Crysis 2).

Nathan Gould? Improbable - Gould himself is an admitted claustrophobe.

Lockhart? HECK no, Lockhart himself was *executed* by Alcatraz on Roosevelt Island. However, it COULD be Lockhart's son. (Apparent death is a favorite method used to "sheep-dip" operatives, both military and IC - and ALL the choices came out of the military or IC SOF community.)

The cryptonym "Silverback" is a particularly flag-posting choice, as a "silverback" (within the SOF community in particular) refers to an "oldhead" or founder - which means that both Nomad AND Lockhart's son are possibles.
