The Tsaeci Creation Myth

Post » Tue Feb 26, 2013 2:59 pm

So my Skyrim game is fairly heavily modded, and one such mod adds books from previous games into the game world. More Lore = No Problem in my book. So I ran across the Tsaeci Creation Myth, and despite it not being the kind of thing my character would read, bought it anyway (Mostly to give the merchant more gold to buy my stuff).

So I sat down and read it and...

Well...wat?

The Tsaeci are Goa'uld CHIMsters? They're of alien intelligence and serpentine in nature, but they keep talking about having bodies prepared for them and how many of their race suffered a burnout that reminded me of Zero Summing. So I'm assuming the serpentine quality isn't completely apparent because they've never been shown as snake people, plus the creation myth revolves heavily around "eating" in a metaphorical sense.

So what I really want to ask is: Is this just some obscure bit of Lore that was pulled from the Imperial Library site or did it actually exist somewhere in a previous Elder Scrolls game? If it's supplemental material not actually existing "In Game" somewhere, I'm not going to dwell heavily on it, but if it's a relic from a physical book somewhere in the TES universe, then that means I'll be devoting a lot more time to chewing on the idea that the Tsaeci are a Franchise Hopping Extra-Planetary species that have all attained CHIM.

It's an out-of-game text written by a dev.

And prior to Oblivion (and even during it- see the Remanada) Tsaesci were depicted as snake people.

Oh good. If I had to sit and figure out needlessly cryptic flowery language written for the sake of being needlessly cryptic and flowery I would have popped a blood vessel. I never understand the need to over complicate creation stories. They're never this complex in a real world sense.

Tsaeci are clearly what happens when Goa'uld have children, ignore what the show says. But joking aside a lot of the added lore mods tend to add in non-canon stuff that was written up by devs when they were bored.
