Fake 60 FPS?

Never had such an issue before but I played the beta a few days ago and Dxtory / Fraps said that I had 60 FPS almost all the time with everything on very high @1920x1080p 2xMSAA.

The thing is, it never felt like true 60 fps, it more felt like 40 FPS. So I tried something to be sure, I forced a 30 FPS lock via Dxtory. Dxtory/Fraps showed constant 30 FPS but the game was clearly running at something like 15 FPS.

So I asked a friend who has the final game and he told me also that it doesn't feel like 60 FPS even though his Fraps counter shows 60 FPS.

I would like to know from you people if you force a 30 FPS lock will it really run at 30 FPS for you or does it also look like 15 FPS?

To me 45 FPS feels like 60 FPS...

Pretty much all Crysis games feel extraordinary smooth.

No, only Crysis 1 feels smooth. Crysis 2 & 3 don't. You are the first person to ever claim that.

Yes, Crysis 3 feels kinda laggy. Even 60FPS is not smooth. 3-40FPS feels like ~20. There is something wrong.

Interestingly I have 2 systems, one older one with a QX6800 and 2 x GTX 460's in sli and my newer one with an I7-2600k and 2 GTX 580's in sli, the older one reports much higher frame rates on msi afterburner, like 80-90 when it only looks maybe in teh 40-50's but still feels smooth, just not 80-90 as its reporting ( i have vsync off on this one ) and my new system seems to report consistent and correct frame rates, I have vsync on, get 60 fps constant and it does feel like 60, and if i do turn vsync off it goes higher and yeah it feels higher, so maybe its being mis-reported on certain setups?
