Massive audio problems.

Post » Tue Feb 26, 2013 7:50 pm

My audio is cutting out very often and im at a loss as what is causing it. I have a fiper optic cable running from my box to my surround sound, and an HDMI running to my TV. The sound output through my TV is perfectly fine, however the surround sound often stutters and drops. It only comes back when i hit the xbox guide button and wait a few seconds. Ive tried it with other games and netflix and get perfect audio from my surround sound, so i am fairly sure it isnt my cable.

Ive only got partway into the game, but the entire first mission getting rescued i had perfect audio with only minor exceptions once or twice, but once i got into the Liberty Dome it is nonstop problems.

There may be some sound bugs with the game concerning Optical Input?

According to my surround sound box, i keep losing Dolby Digital EX. Thats the light that keeps flashing on and off whenever the audio cuts or stutters.

Edit again: Im now losing audio quite frequently even through the HDMI connection straight from the box to the tv...sounds extremely scratchy.

You're not the only one. I have tried two separate sound systems, both hdmi and optical connections and the sound just keeps cutting out. It wasn't really an issue at first but as soon as you actually enter New York, the sound just cut out for 5 minutes at a time only to come back for 25 seconds. It's not your set up but the actual sound files on the disc not playing properly. What's odd is there was no Day 1 update which is rare for any game at this point.

Side note the game is fun so far, but it helps to actually hear objectives!

the same here
in the third mission, when you walk into an open location. I tried to return to the dashboard and back, the audio fix but do not know for how long.

It's the game. It stops when you look at the floor, meaning it's probably some kind of bug/performance issue.

I am getting the same issue. Only at mission 2 though. Mission 3 is good. I am getting weird sound and missing dialog. Tried to fix it by installing the game, but it is still there. Hope they release an update fixing this.

Update: I'm playing through mission 2. Audio is good so far. Not missing dialog :)

Update1: Finished playing mission 2. Sound was good all the time. Playing mission 3; no sound problems. Hope it does not come back. Anyway, updates are welcome :) By the way, I have not experienced any sound issues in mp.

I'm only getting the this issue throughout the second level. it's fades in and out in later levels as well. not nearly as long or as bad though.

Same problem on UK disc.

Xbox slim - Game installed

Audio break up on both TV [HDMI] and optical out [either to my surround system or turtlebeach headset]

The intro to mission 2 where theres dialogue is just a mess of break up and noise..

EA Support say Crytek are aware:

AskEASupport: @shade360 The Crytek Team is investigating this currently. What type of Xbox 360 do you have? Newer Elite or the Classic white one? ^EX

Make sure you all tell them you are also affected - the more info they have the better.
