The Black Books (A community Gdoc project)

Post » Wed Feb 27, 2013 4:08 am

So the Black Books were delivered to us unfinished in Dragonborn. Unacceptable! Its time we finished these right. As they could have and should have been.

Enter the Black Books Gdoc Project. Write new passages, leave comments, and link us up to online media for inspiration.

There are only a few rules:
1. No erasing what others have written. You can add, but you cannot subtract. Leave comments to suggest certain edits or deletions instead.
2. Behave yourselves. This should be open to all ages and sensibilities.

--------

To get involved:
PM me and I'll give you a link to access the docs. You may reach me on here, TIL, or UESP.

If you feel uncomfortable with this, then use this thread to lobby for your own ideas. I just can't promise they'll make their way into the gdoc.

Not everyone will be automatically accepted. If you're somewhat unfamiliar to me (i.e., not a lore-forum regular), you'll need someone I am more familiar with to vouch for your participation.

--------

You can find the Black Books in their vanilla entirety on http://www.imperial-library.info/content/black-books or (minus the authors) on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Black_Book.

In addition, each doc contains the title, subtitle (if there is one), author (if there is one), and full text from the Black Books in game. These bits should not be edited or added to, but comments and links may be added to them for the purposes of conveying an idea or image you think might be helpful.

--------

There, that should pretty much cover it. Lets pull together now and finish what Bethesda started. To Apocrypha!
