I Love Crysis 2 Campaign Better

Crysis 2 campaign had the best, most compelling plot out of all the games i've played up to this date. You had so many great characters adding so much in-depth to the game. Nathan Gould who would help you throughout your ascension even after learning you're not really Prophet, but Alcatraz. His little goofings here and there always made it funny for me to interact with him. Edward "Truth" Newton who was the host of "Radio Free Manhattan" during the Ceph occupation could be heard in so many missions, it always made me happy hearing him talk when things looked grim. I would feel like he was the only one by my side at some points. Lockhart, the hot tempered C.E.L.L. general but also fierce and truest to his cause of fighting off the Ceph invasion and his antipathy of the Nanosuit earned him my sincere respect and attachment to him especially after Hargreave's betrayal (I really felt lonely after that xD). I always wanted more when I would hear Lockhart threaten me or his catchphrase "Tin man", he really wasn't afraid of the nanosuit. Tara Strickland, taking part in the C.E.L.L. activities but really working undercover for the CIA, unexpectedly saving me from Hargreave. I felt good learning she wasn't actually trying to stop me as well as Lockhart. Jacob Hargreave was surely the main reason why I was so attached to the story (and still am). His mesmerizing voice and slow rhytmic but articulate way of speaking made it that awesome. He was the one bringing emphasis to each of the nanosuit's features and their advantages and giving some of his philosophical speeches. (e.g: watch Crysis 2 Be Invisible Trailer) This methodical character may have had become dull to listen to in the long run until his betrayal which the trophy room scene where we find him dead added such a twist, it made that scene truly the best as well as the scariest. Prophet, the one who would give us the backstory. Chino, the marine we could count on. Sherman Barclay, the leader who knew what to do in direst situations. And more. So many plot twists, so much tense ambiance, amazing follow-throughs. I really like how Crysis 2's story revolves more around the nanosuit and its evolution (or our evolution) throughout the story, not some Alpha Ceph that we only get to meet in the end. Yes, Crysis 3 just didn't feel as compelling to me. Was it due to the fact that there were so few characters adding ingame interest or that we didn't have ANY sorts of archrivals during the whole thing. The Alpha Ceph was simply more of a game end boss than anything else, really. Even Karl Ernst Rasch sounded more promising at the end of Crysis 2. Those worthless 2 or 3 small encounters with him in Crysis 3 just didn't do it for me, I expected more from him (not mentioning that the last scene with him reminded me of Mass Effect oddly enough). Don't get me wrong, C3 campaign wasn't short but long.. Long and boring. It just didn't enthrall me the way C2 did. The few Psycho jokes or C1/C2 flashbacks just weren't enough to compensate to the hollow plot.

Each to his own i guess, but i can't understand how anyone in the world would find C2's story even tolerable

It was a hard and bad attempt at the same time to link a good story (C1) with a completely different one made to commercialize the game more and appeal to dumb gamers

C1's story wasn't good either. C2's story is only "bad" because it almost completely ignores what happened in C1, but if they were separate and unrelated C2's would be better.

C1 excels in everything BUT story.

I liked the C2 story too, I'm not sure what to think of the C3 story, I liked the Nanosuit being a Nanosuit among other things

You know what, you're right. C2's story didn't necessarily follow the first sequel. But it was so genius, well made and developped, I like it even more than the original.

C3's was pretty interesting but it was underdeveloped and short; they could have done so much more with it.
