Anyone else tag the final boss only to find the message...

"This is the bosses weak point, shoot here to kill the boss" :) Haha idk if this was a joke or something they put as a placeholder and forgot about but it was worth a good laugh. Thanks for the great game Crytek, really a good game ending which is refreshing after the whole Mass Effect 3 thing....

I agree, this game is great.

I'm glad there were only two pre-rendered cutscenes in Crysis 3... Crysis 2 had many. CryTek's still got it tho.

Crysis 1 and Warhead had ZERO pre-rendered scenes, except for the one before the actual game starts. If Crysis 3 truly were a next-gen ready game like CryTek claims it is, it would not have to rely on pre-rendered scenes at all. Why not use the awesome engine to do those scenes in real time?

But Mass Effect 3 was like 85% pre-rendered cutscenes. I think BioWare is definitely at risk of going to EA's chopping block next. Dragon Age 2 was crap, Mass Effect 3 was a huge let down, and The Old Republic is basically just a WoW clone dressed up as Star Wars. Why didn't they make KotOR III instead? I ain't paying $15 a month for a Star Wars themed WoW that will become bland and boring within a month or two. The first trailer for the game made it look like it would be an amazing game, but the final game itself is just bleh.

To get the upclose nanosuit detail like at the start of Crysis 3 required a pre-rendered cutscene. Getting that kind and detail and recording would require wayyyy too much work in the cryengine.

There were a couple pre-rendered scenes pre-rendered in Cryengine 3. You can do this in Cryengine 3 you know. The reason they pre-render it is so they can put tons of detail in without bogging down your machine. Rendering in the engine has been around since the first game. So technically they did use their engine, just pre-rendered to get more detail in and not slow your machine down to a crawl.

And I assume to prevent textures popping in!

The opening needed to be pre-rendered because... well, it was the opening and a brilliant one at that. I replay it often. The scene where Prophet meets Claire and Rasch was gorgeous and I love how they did it without pulling you out of the action. Cutscene are so last-gen.
