Crysis 3 a console port? But not the ones you're thinking?

So I read a thread last night that got me thinking a little bit. It was basically people wanting the trilogy on the next gen of consoles. A lot of people were happy about the idea of Crysis 3 coming to the ps4 and 720. It got me thinking, we all know that Crysis 3 doesn't use p.om or tess nearly enough for it being a 'next gen" game. Maybe this is what it would look like if it was released on the ps4. Could we be playing a console port from a console that isn't even out yet? It would certainly explain the horrible optimization and the lack of tess and p.o.m., just a thought.

Currently Crysis 3 is the best looking game ever made. There is a decent amount of tessellation and POM in the game, espicially in the final levels. This game taxes my 3 GTX 480's in SLI with an overclocked CPU. Its not a console port in any sense of the word.

Actually most devs are stating that the PC will be the "lead" platform and the new consoles will get the "ports" due to the new re-design of the consoles being similar to developing on PC.

The new consoles will have an x86 CPU and an AMD GPU. It's like developing for PC, just that it will have a controller.

yeah dude no. it's crysis 2 dx9 with tall grass. Yeah sure the last few lvls make great use of tess and pom but as a whole I was very disappointed in this game for it being dx11 only. I've actually found more instances of tess and pom in the mp side of the game than in the sp and it runs better too. No doubt the game is beautiful but there is no way this a huge step over C2. C2 did a way better job of using tess and pom. Also are you sure it's not an optimization issue that is the reason for your tri sli config being taxed. People with sli 690's are getting crap performance right now for little visual gain. Like I said poor optimization and little use of tess and pom throughout the game = ps4/720 port. Just sayin.

Exactly, they could have easily made it to ps4 specs and released it on pc.
