Erratic, Random CPU Usage

Post » Sat Mar 02, 2013 1:42 am

Hello everyone!

Upgraded my system to a i5 3570k clocked at 4.4Ghz for now with a 5870 OC (was 875mhz running 900mhz).

Anyway, I'm having really crazy weird CPU usage.. And I really DO NOT Like it.

Loads are:
Core1: 11%
Core2: 8%
Core3: 80%
Core4: 9%

GPU: 83%

Now call me crazy but I've restarted Crysis a tonne of times and guess what? It always seems to favor a random core?!

Anyone else got this? Every other game under the sun works fine with a near equalish CPU spread... apart from Crysis, and since the CPU in this instance is bottlenecking me I'm kinda' annoyed :S

Running via EA Origin.

Interesting. I don't have that going on but I checked the other night what it was using for me. I have an i7 3770k (8 cores) and it was interesting to see that C3 was using about 60% across the board. I thought that was high but not sure what is happening with others.

My GTX670 is using on average 85%.

You can't count HT as cores :p

It's very odd I know, sometimes it levels out on the game but most of the time it goes back again... Also, no 64bit version? Very odd!

Agreed on the HT, bad wording. My point was I'm surprised at the how much CPU is being used.
