How do I get out of the cave in end of raven rock mine? : V

I have used the enchanted Blade on the red ribbons of light to exhaustion and can't get the door to open. What is the trick here?

Power attacks with the blade
Have the shockwaves hit accordingly with the patterns
Vertical = forward power attack
Horizontal = sideways power attack

I thought that pretty obvious. It even says so in the guy's journal.
