I've delt online with plenty of players that are likely snifflying out of shape teenagers or 20+ year old losers that spend 90% of their lives staring at a PC in their messy bedrooms, and talking trash through a protected internet connection. But it's never really bothered me until I took a step back and considered the future of my little girls. In the past, I'd just laugh it off as a sore loser. But, it seems the rants and raves through this anonymous and cowardly thing we call the internet have increased, and I'm growing concerned about the generation that's likely to take on the responsibility of giving my girls a happy and safe life.
I don't care if I lose in a game, I really don't. Everyone loses at some point, and losing on occasion can only make a good person better. And, I'm the first in-line to congratulate a humble winner or a nice shot.
But for the the trash-talking players with good luck or an exorbant amount of hours playing... your wrist and index finger are only good for a few other things besides gaming. And I'm sure most of you are probably aware of this because it leaves your keyboard a little sticky the next morning. The glamour of a nice shot or finishing atop the leaderboard is an accomplishment, but if that's your only source of self-confidence, you need to take a break between rounds and do some pushups, because it won't last long. So, shut your pie-holes and be respectful of others, because I guarantee there's a few opponents that would make you wet your pants if you competed against them in anything, face to face.
That is all. I look forward to reading the post of those that will flame this topic. Tell your parents or whoever is paying for the roof over your head and your internet connection that I said hello.
