I finally gave up on Skyrim and traded it in. The game froze so often that I had to continually manually re-boot. It sounds like this is still a problem. Yes I did all that I was advised to do regarding autosaves, deleting game data etc etc.

It seems like most PS3 players have glitches, but not all have this freezing issue, that pretty much made the game unplayable. Is it possible I simply got a defective disc? Should I take a risk on a new PS3 version?

I recently got an XBOX so alternatively I could purchase for that but I prefer PS3. I understand XBOX didnt have the same degree of problems.
