Why no crowns?

Skyrim has circlets, which I see as being more for women, but I don't think they look bad on men. But they should really add crowns, like http://sarahandthegoonsquad.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/crown.jpg. That would be a Gold Ruby Crown, and there could be others to match all the types of metals and gems. Just a thought.

Crowns would be a good addition to the game, I personally despise circlets.

Crowns would be cool, but I guess they are too fancy for skyrim? I mean do the jarls even wear crowns? I assumed they wore circlets.

In Camelot, at least when I saw it, Arthur had his crown on for formal engagements and went bare-headed otherwise, probably because crowns are uncomfortable and very heavy. In other words, not good adventuring wear.

And circlets are? Normally only nobles are seen wearing them, so to say crowns aren't in the game because they are heavy and uncomfortable is a stretch.

I couldn't imagine any sort of adventurer wondering around Skyrim and slaying beast with a crown on. It seems more for a noble to wear, or for anyone else to wear during some fancy event.

I would like to see some crowns, but I would prefer to see capes and cloaks in the game before crowns. I'd use them much more often.

Cloaks would be cool but I think that might have conflict issues with the fact that they need as less clothing pieces as possible. Something to do with how many NPCs can be in one cell at a time. That's why clothing is getting more and more lumped together. Like pauldrons and greaves being added to the cuirass.

I would capes and cloaks as well. But I worry about the clipping issues they might cause.

As someone already said, "crowns" as in "royal jewels" are not something that even royalty wanders around in all the time. Generally they are only worn on formal state occasions. In battle they would be a waste of space better taken up by something providing actual protection, i.e. a helmet of some kind.

Most of the Jarls in Skyrim wear a circlet of some kind, even Torygg doesn't appear wearing anything more than that. Why the PC doesn't have the option of acquiring and wearing a crown seems pretty obvious to me - you're not the ruler of anything, not the king or queen of anything, why should you be walking around with a crown on your head? :P

They wouldn't need to be seperate pieces. Maybe more armors with cloaks already attached, like the Nightingale armor for example. I would even like to see current armors also have seperate sets with cloaks, so you could choose whether you wanted a set with a cape or not. I think the Blades armor would look decent with a dark blue cloak.
