Buying a Crossbow : V

Just brought Dawnguard and I was looking online and couldn't seem to find out if you can buy crossbows from vendors. I would like one before I start the Dawnguard quest.

You can't buy them from normal vendors. Once you progress into the Dawnguard questline you can find some, and

if you side with the vampire hunters you will eventually gain access to an NPC who will sell them.

You can't get them before starting the questline though.
