Cpu's Test with CRYSIS 3

Post » Tue Mar 05, 2013 8:04 am

Today i was thinking to my self whats going on why is this game running so bad on my pc .

I have 2x670 the lastest drivers from nvidia and i5 2500k clocked to 4.4ghz with watercooling why is this game running so bad ,

So i fired up system info from win7 to monitor the cpu and gpus ..

To find that all my four cores are all 100% all the time and gpus are 50% all the time pretty much ,Even when the game as been set to lowest setting to test the game will still use all cpu cores to 100% and 50% gpu's .Then i am thinking ok if the game is using all four cores like this then the cpu must be bottlenecking my gpus that's why they cant go over 50% there is no fuel in the engine in to push the gpu's any more its at full speed .

So that said what should i do get better CPU or what i so confused because i have a very good system yet the game plays bad ..

I was reading that i7 chip work wonders with this game up to 30% more speed with hyper threading , Problem is i dont want to get my dad to wast money if it not going to change the way the game plays ..

so if any one as lets say i7 chip and 2x670 cards whats your setting and whats your specs and how is your game playing and what FPS are you getting ..And all so whats the cpu usage when playing this game ..

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this thread .

Have a nice day .

Just done another test using just one card ..

Was getting pretty much same fps as i was when using two cards ,But i was kind of surprised to see that the GPU was only using between 50% to 70% max that seems a little strange to me .When the CPU is using 100% on all four cores !

The game is very badly optimized some thing i just dunno ?

Can any one please @ CRYTEK post a reply to this please before we wast money on hardware ??

why is this game running so bad.
Probably because of the updated CryEngine technology? Crysis was the same on PC when it first came out, maybe new drivers and some possible optimization on Crytek's end might improve performance later down the line, but i suspect maybe even the new GPU's from AMD and Nvidia might or might not improve performance by much?, hard to say. Even 3 Nvidia GTX TITAN GPU's can not produce playable framerates at higher resolutions and at Very High Quality settings, it's just one of those games that push the PC/Windows platform because of the technology in the CryEngine, but like i said i'm hoping for driver improvements and maybe optimizations of the game from Crytek. But i don't believe any optimization or driver updates will produce super fast performance results, not a chance, but you can have hope, hahaha.

If you were to TAB out of the game and look at the Task Manager - (Performance TAB) try clicking on the 'Processes' tab and then click on 'CPU' (once or twice) and see what's using all the CPU.

My bet is that its not 'Crysis3.exe' and some other program/process is eating your CPU cycles. Fix that and you fix your problem.
