Removing head parts?

I am trying to edit a custom race someone else made. The race uses a custom texture for its teeth and a custom .nif for the mouth & teeth. When I go in-game and open my character's mouth, I can actually see two sets of teeth there - the default texture, AND the custom race texture. I think I've found the problem, though. In the CK, the race has two mouth parts listed in its "Additional Head Parts" window: the default human mouth part, and the custom race mouth part. All the vanilla races only have one mouth part there, so I'm convinced this is the cause of the problem. The original modder must have duplicated one of the human races to serve as a foundation for the new one.

Is there a way to just remove the default human mouth part from the race? I think I could get around it by remaking the race ID from scratch and just never adding the default mouth part to begin with, but I'd rather just remove the part from the existing race if I can.
