Could someone PLEASE help me out with patch information!

I'm new here so if I've missed an explanation for this or have posted in the wrong place, please forgive me. I've recently started having problems while playing Skyrim and I can't seem to find any answers. I've just run into a problem where, upon talking to my companion and asking to trade (or any other option on their menu) the NPC responds verbally but the menus don't open. This has just started happening and I can't get it to stop. I've gone back to the earliest game save and noticed that when I start it the problem doesn't occur. However within a short period of game play (15 minutes or less) the problem starts occurring. It has even happened with a shop owner in one of the towns.
I also came upon an issue in the Red Eagle quest once I got to the foresworn Briarheart. Instead of attacking me the Briarheart, a guy near him, and another guy in the camp just sat there. When I talked to them they said something like "what do you need" but did nothing further. I attacked the Briarheart and he just stood there not fighting at all. I don't know if these are known issues and if there is a patch for them or not.

My biggest problem is that I don't know how to get a fix for the problems. I've searched online from my computer but have not found any place to download a patch. I can't access the internet on my PS3 so I need a way to upload a patch via disk or USB. I could really use some help. I have over 140 game hours in and I'd really hate to have to simply delete my game and start over.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Inventory weirdness can occur if there are too many items in the inventory. Keys are the biggest source of this problem, but Soul Gems can add up to, along with Potions

Try putting a bunch of your inventory into a safe container, see if you get the same issue with the companions.

So you can't access the Playstation Network from your PS3?

Like CCNA said above, you can have too many object in your inventory, Check for a key called "Dwemer Museum Key", if you have more than 1 key dump them all into an enemies body.
