Transfering Skyrim Save Files

Post » Wed Mar 06, 2013 4:18 am

Hello Everyone,

Apologies in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong thread as this is my first post on these forums.

So in the last year, my laptop which was running Skyrim died, I managed to take out the HDD and managed to pull what I think are the save game files for my old Skyrim game. The files range from some that state 'autosave1.ess' to 'Save 22 - ThePowerUp Whiterun.ess'

My question is, twofold:

I) Are these my Skyrim save files?

and II) If I take these, and put them in my (Windows 7) Saves folder (C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves) should they appear when I boot up Skyrim?

I appreciate any help you users can contribute. I know that many will say "Just try it!" but I've had bad experiences with playing with backend things for games like Skyrim so I prefer to get some insight first.
