I think 2 has always been the normal, unless I missed something myself. I have Erik and a Steam Centerion as my followers atm.

edit: you can have 1 companion and 1 summoned one from conjuration unless maxed, and/or dog

but you are *supposed* to have one that can carry your items, unless its a quest i guess

Wish I could get both Vorstag and Argis to follow my Redguard together. We're all Heavy Armor/One Hand users, so we all have full suits of Dwarven armor and Dwarven weapons. Only difference is I carry a sword, Vorstag has an axe, and Argis has a mace. We'd look really cool running along in our color-coordinated golden finery.

ehh you probably play pc because on console i am cursed with that limitation, i try to have more than 1 and it never works no matter how hard i try (i wanted marcurio and J'zargo)

Depends. Have you taken her back to her dad yet?

Unless you have a mod that allows this, the only way to have two humanoid followers is glitches or certain quests.

Finshed the DG main questline. She chills at the Fort when I'm not in the mood for her sass and I go pick her up there whenever I please.

serana can be recruited with another companion. it is a bug.
