Price Cut $$ So Is the GOTY Edition near for a rel

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 8:25 am

so i was just checking the front page of steam to look for some deals then i saw skyrim at 39.99 USD first i thought there might be a sale on the game but no it was the price cut.
so my question is can we expect a GOTY Edition any time soon and why the price cut ??
after all the game is still rocking in terms of sales i always see skyrim or skyrim related things on top selling games on steam

Nobody can honestly give this an answer.
This game has been out for a while so it got a price cut on steam. Its still 50-60 retail.

Its been a year and almost 4 months from release, so it may be just a sales strategy to keep the sales up.

Surprised it lasted more than a year at full price, most games don't last more then 6 months at full price. Still expecting a GOTY edition in Dec.

A GOTY edition has to be when everything's wrapped up. No more patches, no more content. The 1.9 patch isn't even out yet and I'm betting on more content, so I doubt that the GOTY will be out soon.

This here is my guess, I think there will still be some more patches and a few more DLC. Then we will get a GOTY.

Just the thought on not expanding on Skyrims content and feature set is enough to stress over.

If Bethesda follows their past form (which there's no reason to believe that they won't keep supporting Skyrim for a while yet), then there will be no GOTY edition of Skyrim until they are completely done with DLC for Skyrim.

Why?

The GOTY Edition will include a second disc that has all of the DLC on it. just like they did with Oblivion, and Morrowind before that. So no, OP, there will most likely be no GOTY Skyrim for quite a bit. :)
