Question to the Developers

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 8:36 am

Please help us to understand some part in the game mechanics, more specific the weapon balance. I read the following statements:

However, the facts are that Crysis/Crysis Wars was way different and didn't have any help that they now think makes them pro. Talking about the SCAR + laser, they think it's overpowered or bugged or blablabla (not old statements, I heard this a few days ago in a Crysis 3 server) but the facts are that this is the way it's been implemented since Crysis: it's the most powerful weapon of the game and with the laser is the perfect weapon. It was meant to be used like that

It's good for me if other weapons will became popular in the scene but the primary weapon was, is and will be the SCAR

Is this true? Is the scar supposed to be the most powerful weapon in the game? Thank you for your response.

For C2MP/C3MP:

No weapon is intended to be the "best weapon in the game". Each weapon should have its niche and be able to be beaten by another in various circumstances.

But the problem is that the Scar can only be beaten by a Sniper Rilfe on very long distances.

Especially with Foregrip and Muzzlebreak + Aim Enhance.

Do you guys even have free time?^^
Lightspeed response... Thank you. I am shure you are collecting enough data to make balance decisions in the future.

You can't have every weapon balanced perfectly. It doesn't exists a perfect balance for every single thing ofthe game, however exists things that are meant to be better than others. I don't think that having the SCAR + laser in 4 games as the most effective weapon is something unintended

I can't say for CrysisWars but for C2 is was a bug, for C3 it was modified down but not enough clearly. It will be visted soon.

True, it was unintended in C2 and C3 which equals two. Crysis 1 had different developers am I right?

Then as you can see neither John can calk for Crysis Wars. Crytek gave to Crytek UK the multiplayer starting from C2, so we will never knew if it the SCAR was meant to be like that but the facts are that it has always been used in competitive because it was powerful. It can be visited again but in won't change a clear thing: if someone is good enough, they use a weapon or another won't make big difference

I am not interested in crysis wars sry. I knew that the current developers do not know too much about the crysis wars mechanics, so my question was aiming for their work,

Cause they choose the easy way to play.
