Gandalf based character

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:16 am

There's probably already an old thread about this but I wanted to make my own now that the DLC's are out.

Some info first: I'm planning to make a character based on Gandalf from "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". I play on PS3 and have all the current DLC's.

Now about building my character...
I'll probably go for Destruction and Healing. Don't know about Illusion and Alteration but I'll have to go for Illusion since Gandalf has similar abillities.
Obviously I will need to find a staff  I will need to find a 1H sword too. A magical ring is also something I need. Gandalf uses clothes so I need to wear the same and he wanders around so I'm not guying too build a house even though I have Hearthfire. Maybe I'll build something later if it suits the story.

Summary of what I got so far:
Magic:
- Destruction
- Healing
- Illusion (to some degree)

Weapons:
- Staff (need to find one as fast as possible)
- 1H sword (no hurry with that)

Jewelry:
- A magical ring (need to find that relatively soon)

Clothes/armor:
- Hat (if I find one pointy enough and not sure if it should be enchanted or not)
- Robe (not sure if it should be enchanted or not)
- Boots (same as the robe)

Any comments, suggestions or constructive critisism on my build so far?

I'm dropping his old looks and making him look like me physically. It makes it easier for me to immerse myself in the game.

Gandalf had great mastery over fire, since he held Narya. He was capable of altering his presence to invoke fear or awe, and was a potent enough combatant that he held off the Nazgul for an entire night, and their battle was seen as fire and lightning from miles away.

He was a healer, as he was mitigating the Nazgul-fear during the assault on Minas Tirith.

He was skilled in Alteration magic, given his ability to seal the doors to the Chamber of Mazarbul before the balrog's counterspell blew it up.

He had phenomenal endurance, considering the nonstop fight from Khazad-dum all the way to Zirakzigil over two weeks.
