The Were-Rogue

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 5:39 am

So I'm thinking of a build that incorporates beastform into a rogue-like play style.

Most of my combat skills would be relatively low, meaning that I would primarily rely on stealth as a means of completing objectives. However, if things get hairy (no pun intended), I could transform into a werewolf to do any of the "heavy lifting" when it comes to combat.

It's almost like Bruce Banner turning into the Hulk. He'll do everything he can to avoid it, but if his back is against the wall, well....all bets are off.

As of right now, I'm limited to doing thieves guild quests in towns until my sneak skill is a bit higher (archery, too), in order to bypass enemies in dungeons. There are some dungeon quests where I just want to get in, retrieve the item, and get out. Or find the mark, take them out, and leave (run away, if need be).

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

It would be fun and versatile, except you can only use beast form once a day, twice if you have that ring (forget what it is called). I dont know if there is a mod that can enable you to change to beast form as much as you want though. I see you're on PC

Also the time it takes to transform into the werewolf can be very costly especially if you have your back up against a wall. If you can cut down the time it takes to transform that could be a great method. Plus I think if someone is powerful werewolf they should be able to change faster. Like as soon as you receive the gift of beast blood it could take a little while to change but after you have been one for a while you should be able to change much faster as your character is more used to it.

The Ring of Hircine lets you change as much as you want.

I think this is a great idea for a build. My suggestions would be in invest a lot in stamina and health, and to get the ring of hircine ASAP.

Heheh, yeah I've already done that part. All of my level ups are going into Health/Stamina 1:1. I'm level 12 right now.

I might tinker with the Beast Form power (if I can find it in the CK) to give the same howl fear effect, but only for like 5 seconds. This should be enough to allow the transformation to take place without being slaughtered....plus, it makes sense that people would be frightened at such a sight.

One thing I know I'll have to come to grips with is bounty in several holds. I'm bound to transform in front of people or guards. If I'm roleplaying, I would just rampage until reverting to human form. I can either get arrested and break out of prison, or I can stealth my way back into cities at night and avoid guards.
