I have a new Dell XPS 8500 with a Nvidia GTX 660. My question is, can I download the updated drivers from the Nvidia site? The drivers on the Dell site are not updated. The drivers on my machine are 306.97. The drivers on the Dell site are 310.67. Since this is an OEM card will the drivers on the Nvidia site work or do I have to wait for Dell to update the drivers?

Yes you can.

Unless it's a laptop or an all-in-one with an "m" graphics adapter, you can and should always get your drivers straight from Nvidia.

Even though it is an OEM card? I thought OEM's do things to the card that makes them only compatible with mfg drivers in this case Dells drivers.

That really only applies to the laptops and all-in-ones where they are using an integrated chipset rather than an actual modular graphics card. I have an old Dell XPS 420, and I've upgraded the graphics card a couple of times, and I've also swapped the original 8800GTX from that system into a different PC that I use for work. The cards that Dell uses in their towers are no different than any other video card that you would buy off the shelf.

Go to the Nvidia drivers web site and have it scan your system to find the appropriate driver. If for any reason your system was not compatible, it would tell you. Otherwise, you should download the new driver from a few days ago (314.07), as it has specific improvements for Crysis 3.
