Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:18 pm

Hello everyone

Im running Crysis 3 on medium just fine, no framerate problem. but after playing about 30 min in my PC just shuts down all of a sudden, it has happened twice now.. i know something is wrong

any expert here may know possibly why?

i have AMD quad core phenom II black edition 3.22GhZ i think
Readon HD 6870

Windows 7

forgot what power im using..

Is it overheating? or my rig is not good enough for this game?

either overheat problem on cpu or gpu card due to the game being very demanding, or your power supply is very weak and shuts down to prevent damage. but i guess its overheat problem.

Emergency shutdown. Your computer is overheating. Watch the temperature and make sure it doesn't get too high.

check your temps and look for faulty hw, especially your psu.

This, overheats are not the only cause, sometimes. It could be your PSU as well.

Could be your PSU, could be overheating. I had the exact same problem a couple years ago but I could play for 30 minutes to an hour or so before it would shut down. It would start right back up so I quickly surmised it wasn't overheating. I had a couple other PSUs laying around so next I switched out my power supplies. No dice. In the end, it wound up being a fried northbridge so I had to replace my mobo. The moral of the story? Nobody here has your PC sitting in front of them so nobody here can troubleshoot it for you. Can they point you in the right direction? Yeah, more than likely, but I would honestly laugh in the face of anybody who sat there with a definitive answer to this question, they're just blowing smoke trying to sound like they have a clue. The fact is, there can be any number of reasons why your machine is behaving the way it is,it can be hardware related, software related, a problem with connectivity, even registry errors, the list goes on and on and on.
