Crysis 3 SLI fix

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:33 am

So I have read on this forum that there is a SLI fix for Crysis 3 that resolves the SLI scaling issue, but for somewhat reason I cannot view the posts because of this message "You are not authorised to read this forum.".

Do anyone have a direct link to the config file, and the guide?

I've heard about this access problems to the forums before, so maybe this will help others also.

Many thanks!

My crossfire fix was to make an autoexec.cfg file with this command: r_MultiGPU = 2
2 is auto
1 is for 2 cores
0 is 1 core
1 doesn't work for me so I used 2 and it scales and uses both cores on my AMD 6990.

Thanks for the response guys!

I got it fixed. Had the 314.07 driver installed, and that didn't do it for me at all.

So I uninstalled those drivers and installed the 313.96 drivers instead, and now it works great. SLI is scaling great, and no problems whatsoever.

Something must have gotten wrong since I tried the 313.96 before with no luck.

What I did was uninstall drivers I had, restart, install 313.96, restart, enable SLI, restart. That did the trick for me.

I'm running two GTX 680.

Update: The issue has returned. Everything was going fine last night, and now it's back to bad scaling again. I thought it had something to do with the Nvidia Control Panel automatic updating the SLI profiles for the drivers, so I tried to reinstall drivers both on disabling the auto update and one more time disabling internet connection but still the issue occurs both times.

I haven't needed it with 314.07 drivers and actually didn't need it for 313.96 during open beta, either.

Also, the release notes (a PDF) for 314.09 (new release for Titan card) states that for some SLI issues with these drivers, go into the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Global Settings > Power management mode, and set to 'Prefer maximum performance'.

Found out my problem. After some hours of frustration, the evil little thing was the bios firmware. It somehow bugged my PCI-E slot 1, and downgrading the firmware helped. That explains the low usage of gpu in multiple games.

Motherboard SABERTOOTH-P67-ASUS-

The bios version that made the PCI-E slot fail was the bios version 3602, and downgrading to 3302 did the trick. (yaaay)

And I'm using the newest Nvidia driver 314.07 with no problems what so ever.

Thank's for the support guys.
