Low texture res, Resolved CCC Issue

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:09 am

I have been playing new vegas on steam for quite some time now, and I noticed that the words on my pip boy "STATS, ITEMS, DATA," and the others are unreadable.

I didn't mind it, but once I played on a friends computer and saw how readable they were on his I got kinda bothered and it sticks out to me now. Here is a picture of what it looks like on my screen (I probably shouldn't have screenshotted at night)

I have gone into options and changed my video configuration to the highest for texture resolution but it stays the same. How can I change this? Is my graphics card too weak? (5450 radeon so I would understand if it was too weak)

Looks like your textures are too small. Open the settings menu and go to display, you should see something that says "texture size". If you see that then set it to large. Hope this helps :)

They were already on large, and I changed it to low and restarted. I checked the options and texture quality had also been changed to low so I assume that they are connected.

It must be my computer. The 5450 is not enough to run that kind of stuff. Oh well, my new tower is almost complete so I won't have to worry much longer

Basically, what that thread is saying is to turn off the CCC and use the game settings for AA and such. I never run the CCC on my ATI rigs, I always set the options for each game in the game itself.

And, yes, the 5450 is a not a strong card, if you turn up the graphics too much, you will get crashes and freezes and whatnot.

I unchecked CCC on startup and rebooted. The problem was fixed, and I appreciate the help.
