Data Patch C - Coming Soon!

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 9:31 pm

Data Patch C is a behind the scenes update and is automatically downloaded when entering Multiplayer. Patch C contains the following tweaks:

  • Developers Choice playlist updated to new game mode variation
  • Jackal fire rate decreased slightly
  • Jackal per pellet damage fall off increased
  • Fixed an issue where the Takedowns spread escalated too quickly in certain zoom modes
  • Grendel fall damage fall off reduced for better long range impact
  • FY71/SCAR damage fall off increased to reduce their effective range
  • Further matchmaking tweaks for X360 and PS3 to increase chance of local sessions being found
  • Foregrip and Muzzle Brake effectiveness reduced slightly
  • Laser sight effectiveness reduced slightly

If you see something like this at the bottom left of your main multiplayer screen, then you have the patch.

If you can not see it and this post says the patch is live, chances are your copy of the game didn't manage to download and verify it in time. Simply return to the Single Player menu and click back into Multi Player or restart the game, entering MP will usually resolve the issue as it will have been downloaded already but not verified.

If you do not have the patch you will be unable to play against players who do, so you may have less matches available to your (or no official dedicated servers on PC). This is very unlikely to happen and can be resolved by returning to the Single Player menu and back to Multi Player.

Some users have had problems downloading these data patches, usually due to Anti-Virus or Proxy issues, so if you have persistent problems, check this thread out for more information:

It is likely that these patches will not go live at the same time across all platforms so keep checking this thread as to when your platforms patches are live.

Data Patch C Status:

PC: TBC
X360: TBC
PS3:TBC

Previous patch changelists:

Data Patch A
Data Patch B
Patch 1.1

We have identified an issue in Patch 1.1 where the Dog Tags screen in Player Profile will show you having less dog tags than before the patch, this will affect all platforms when the patch goes live. We have identified the issue and have a fix in place but there will be a period of time before this can be rolled out. This only affects the dogtags in the 5th and 6th categories in the Dog Tags screen.

It is important to note that this is a UI issue rather than you actually losing your dogtags, the game still knows what you have/haven't unlocked but is not correctly displaying them.

I believe that is the intention, though they should've increase their effectiveness instead, rather than decreasing it.

The benefit of equipping them is reduced, for example if they previously gave you a 10% reduction in recoil, its now a 8% reduction. Those aren't the actual values though, just example ones.

Good patch, Grendel made more distinct for longe range roles while nerfering the scar/FY on those ranges. Laser sight nerf(against scar/jackal) and jackal mid range effectivness and close range fire rate reduced. I love it, this should bring some more balance:)

I also want to say that i LOVE how crytek keeps the patches for bug fixes and uses Push Data patches to role out balance fixes on smaller intervals. Very good plan of action:)

seems that you made your thoughts.

Developers Choice, I saw that in the server manual - so what does it do? I could imagine a mode where everyone got maneuverabillity but no other modules...
