Why is everyone so creeped out in all the Vaults?

Sorry to burst your bubble. He is used in the quest VFreeFormVault11 with the audio log line ("All right, I know you can hear me, so listen up. There's five of us left....."). Also the Holodisk "VVault11SurvivorRecording" uses him because audible notes need a speaker NPC to function correctly. He is a placeholder for the engine (audio note to be specific) nothing more.

Btw. there are a lot of leftovers from development and placeholders in Geck. It is not so simple to figure out what is cut content and what not.
Ah okay that makes sense. It's still kinds stupid because they put items on him when he really didn't need them if they weren't gonna use him :P

That's easy to explain: "left mouseclick on a existing NPC and click duplicate if I need a new NPC for something" it's a lot faster then to fill out a ton of fields if I have to make a complete new one in geck.

You must be a bit of an idiot if you are scared by computer games/ movies etc, the fact you cant seperate them from reality points to a rather weak mindset... the real scary stuff is out there in real life

Seems like someone doesn′t know that games/movies are designed to affect the mind..

The fact that they creep people out is a sign of how good they are.
People are creeped out by them not because of some scary Phantom or zombie apocolypse, but the fact that man would do this to his fellow man.

The best stories are those about human nature.

I don't particularly get creeped out by them. The only thing I've ever found creepy in FO is the Dunwich building.

I think it's No-Bark.

On topic: The vaults are not really scary, but they are a bit creepy if you enter them for the first time because you have no idea what will happen. You know _something_ will happen because something creepy happens in all vaults, but you don't know what. So there is a bit of tension in the air.
Plus, the labyrinth-y feeling. I hate that I always get lost in vaults, on top of the watch-out-for-strange-things-to-happen.
Bottlecap mines make for excellent bread crumbs while exploring vaults so do all land mines I guess their use is two fold and you always exit the same place you enter so collection is no big deal.As far as vaults being scary hmmm yea creepy is a good way to put it.
