Also, if anybody is interested, here's my message to the mod stating why I thought the original thread should be reopened:
Okay, so I figured that I would put together a reasonable case as to why I believe that the thread should be allowed to stay open.
Firstly, it appeared that those participating were animated about the idea of a quiz thread, and putting their knowledge to the test. Also, as far as I could see, no forum rules were broken. The quiz rules did outline that any spamming or other rule-breakers would be reported.
Second, the quiz's similarity to the 'Oblivion Quiz Thread' were only that, a quiz. Besides that, the topic was drastically different, as the Oblivion Quiz Thread was aimed at the game and its inner mechanics, while the Lore Quiz Thread targeted the overall story of the TES lore, which is almost completely irrelevent to the Oblivion Quiz Topic. By using this thread for my topic, I would actually be breaking rules.
Also, when I asked another moderator, they did not see a reason as to why it should have been closed, as it did not conflict with another topic or break any rules.
I hope you see this little message. Thanks for reading.
