Sacrifices

Alright, I need to know who you all think the most disposable follower is, from the base game only (I cannot purchase DLC at this time). There's a certain item I've always wanted to obtain and I need to partake in a certain course of action to do so. Most of you should know what that is, I'm trying not to spoil anything for the rest of you. :tops: I also tried searching about online and on the forum for this, and maybe I'm just inept, but I didn't really find much.

So... who is it? I rarely ever use followers of any type, so I have limited experience with most of them. I'm not necessariy concerned with combat ability at all, but rather with character and story. I don't care if the person used is the most powerful fighter you can get or the weakest, that doesn't really matter to me. I've been wanting to do this for ages, and I'm finally playing a dead-is-dead character that has motivation and means to do so. I just don't know how to go about it, since he hasn't really met anyone he'd dispose of in such a fashion yet.

Please discuss who you would/do use for this and why! I'd greatly appreciate it, especially if it helps me make a decision of my own. Personally, the only one I've seen thus far that I'd use is the ex-witch you can get somewhere south of Riften (I think!).

Also, feel free to discuss the event in general, I avoided spoilers in this post because this is supposedly a spoiler-free board, but whatever suits you! :D

Cosnach. Silver-Blood Inn.

A drunk who doesn't even work.

AND, he doesn't even appreciate the coin you give him.

Edit: Please don't use Illia.

Kill Eola, that evil death-worshiping scum who desecrates the dead. I never regret sacrificing her, feels good to get a jab in at Namira too, you kill the leader of her cult and one of her top acolytes, doesn't hurt to sell the ring either... You also technically screw over Boethia in the process as well, no innocent blood for that witch!

It's a 3 way win.
Screw over two daedric princes and avenge the dead, all in one quest!

Sacrifice an orc. It's mythically appropriate.

Thanks for the suggestions! I never knew Cosnach would follow you, I usually just ignore his drunk ramblings. I've actually never helped Namira either, and I only met Eola once. Do you have to complete Namira's 'tasks' to get her to follow you?

Also got reminded of Faendal and Sven. I don't really like either of them, but I don't think either one compares to those two suggested to me.

Cosnach is a good choice.
Also the headsman in Solitude who executed the man who let " you know who" run from Solitude. The headsman is not the most likeable fellow. But check out his quest first and decide for yourself

Is Eola the woman from the Arnleif and sons shop? If not is the proprietor from that shop a possibility.

...Yes, sadly you must go through with her 'task'. However I just turn my character so I grab at air, a technicality sure, but appropriate.

Trust me, it's well worth it in the end. You screw over two Daedric lords, and sanctify an evil. Not to mention taking for yourself a special armor, and a monetarily valuable ring.

I used Jenassa since she just sits in the Drunken Huntsman and doesn't have a home, family, or anything that reminds you of her after she's gone, as compared to some other followers. She's good in combat, though if you don't use followers, that doesn't really matter. I completed Boethia's Calling early on in the game, and so I hadn't come across many of the other followers at that point. In a previous playthrough, I sacrificed Uthgerd the Unbroken, but I didn't like that she had a house in Whiterun, and I preferred to use a pawn who could be easily forgotten, which is why I later used Jenassa.

I can't really justify that with my current character as he's somewhat of a Dunmer supremist, but that's also a fair suggestion. She was the first one that came to mind when I found out what I had to do, only because she was the only 'story-less' follower I knew of off-hand.
