Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone knows any mods that make the game funnier... not in the silly way with random meme jokes or other goofiness, but mostly with funny dialogue, maybe a funny quest line... I don't know, something really light-hearted instead of all the serious fantasy business of lost loved ones and threatening villains.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

And another thing:
The character I'm currently playing is supposed to be a lovable rogue whose tongue is sharper than his sword. He's witty, sarcastic, charming... that kind of guy. But the game doesn't allow me to roleplay this character. The dialogue is mostly in a very serious tone, not playful at all... and very boring. Can anyone recommend a mod here that maybe changes the dialogue a bit? I've seen only one so far that did this, but it relied on swearing and insults and was very childish.

If you don't know a mod like this, maybe think about making one.

For me, fantasy just works better if it's a bit humorous. For example, think of Firefly or Cowboy Bebop - those were very funny shows with characters quipping all the time. And then when something epic or something tragic happened, it just hits you that much harder because you're not expecting it, or because you like the characters so much that you want them to succeed. There's a reason Tyrion Lannister is the most popular character from Game of Thrones, and other than the children pretty much the only one I cared about.

Still a work-in-progress...there's 2 main versions available at the moment, one fully-voiced with a few quests, and another version not fully-voiced yet that adds a load more quests. Even ignoring the actual quests, the new dialogue is often very light-hearted and witty, and the voice acting is on the whole pretty top notch - a few lower-quality voice recordings and performances, but many, particuarly characters such as Kha'dojo, are almost vanilla in their technical quality...but much more interesting of course! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26393? On the surface just another companion mod, but one which is fully voiced and adds a new quest (or series of quests) that develop over time. There's some amusing banter between Vilja and vanilla NPCs (mixing the new Vilja voice with edited vanilla dialogue for NPCs).

Both mods are character based - but without good character you can't have good humor!

Awesome! Especially Interesting NPCs is exactly what I'm looking for, based on the description. Thank you very much! (Companion Vilja is great, and I tried the Oblivion version, but I'm just not into companion mods.)

I'm still hoping for a nice faction mod or something with strong characters and a lot of banter, but this is a very good start.
