No sticky for Basic Skyrim Modding Info? Is there an all in

Post » Tue Mar 12, 2013 2:36 am

I have just now installed Skyrim and bought all current DLCs, so I probably missed all the original modding discovery threads.

I was up to speed on Oblivion modding including OBMM/OBSE/CS, but now it all involves Steam and there isn't a starter sticky for any new issues/tools.

So, is there a good starter site/link for the basics, like what new tools, procedures, so I can get started.

I'm really mostly interested in items like Mod Managers and OBSE equivalents for Skyrim, before I start researching for specific mods.

Thanks All

I really need to get back to modifying the Oblivion thread (http://www.gamesas.com/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/) for Skyrim...

Anyways, things are pretty much the same. For the OBSE equal, just replace obse in the URL for OBSE with skse.

As for mod managers, OBMM has become NMM. Bash is still Bash, but still needs updating to fully work with Skyrim's plugins. That's happening slowly as the main developers are busy as hell and the code is a bit of a maze.

Some have mentioned Mod Organizer, but I'm still wary of it myself.

That's really about it, as far as I know. Steam doesn't really change much, to be honest. Scripts are now embedded into a save.

Not many new tools right now, but they're being worked on.
