Thalmor threat: Needs it's own game, or DLC will do?

Okay so TES games normally have big important things happening between games. For instance, the red mountain blew up, morrowind became desolute, and the Thalmor took over Cyrodil.

The Thalmor seem kind of like the Nazi's, and fans of the series HATE them (in a good way). I don't think Bethesda can get away with just ignoring the Thalmor and have the next TES game be 200 years in the future, with some backstory about how the Thalmor were stopped by so and so. I THINK Bethesda is in a situation where they are going to need to allow us as the players to solve the Thalmor problem.

So my question is this:

Do you think a DLC/ Expansion for Skyrim is enough to satisfy your Thalmor killing? Or does the next game need to be focused on this?

and just for fun: would you be okay with Bethesda ignoring the Thalmor, and just have the Summerset Isles be super poor in the next TES game, 50's Germany style?

It needs to be dealt with in its own game. TES VI: Alinor.

Political intrigue would be the backdrop of the story and the choices could range between a variety of political factions all vying to either usurp the Thalmor (or in the case of the Thalmor themselves) keep their power.

A DLC would just do a piss poor job of it, and would no doubt be reduced to mindless Thalmor killing just to satisfy some peoples desire to "Killz the Thalmorz".

The Thalmor seem kind of like the Nazi's

No. They seem like "X" faction in history which had racial prejudice and planned to commit acts of genocide.

That's a lot of possible comparisons. Its rather generic actually. Nothing specific to Nazi's whatsoever.

Maybe the Thalmor presence in Skyrim can be dealt with an expansion and the full extent in the next or future games I'd leave it for TES 7.
