Dragonborn vs Dragon born

Post » Tue Mar 12, 2013 4:03 pm

What most people don't realize is that Alessia, the Septim bloodline, and Camoran are not the same kind of Dragonborn as Miraak and the main character from Skyrim. They are not Dovahkiin. If you don't remember, it says that Alessia is the first Dragon born, but in the Dragonborn DLC, it says Miraak is the first Dragonborn. It's two different kind of Dragonborn. Oblivion's Dragon born is not Skyrim's Dragonborn.

They're still not the same kind of Dragonborn. Miraak was a Dovahkiin, Alessia was not. Neither was Tiber, Uriel, or Martin.

Alessia was gifted the Dragon Blood so that the Dragon Fires could keep burning.
Why did Miraak have Dragon Blood?Ask Akatosh?

He didn't have Dragon Blood. And anyway, he received his power from the dragons, not Akatosh.

Neither was Tiber.

That is oh so painfully wrong and demonstrated MANY times within Skyrim itself.

Miraak and the Dovahkiin get their ability to absorb souls from, in a way, a rewriting of the lore to make room for an interesting game mechanic. We know Tiber could shout with the best of them, maybe the only reason he couldn't absorb souls is the idea hadn't been thought up by the writers until Skyrim started production. Gotta love a retconn.

Where are you getting this? The Dragonborn is described as having dragonblood many times. How do you think Miraak acquired his dragonborn from dragons?..

Which reminds me: Whatever god(s) is in charge of making mortals, how do you screw something like that up?

I'd like to know where the OP gets the idea that Alessia DB isn't the same as Miirak Dovahkiin...

No, they said they have the SOUL of a dragon. Not the BLOOD of a dragon.

MK said she wasn't.. what he didn't say is that every emperor was not the same kind. Tiber Septim is THE Dragonborn... Martin probably was too.

You need to pay more attention to the game. The player character is said to have both multiple times. Also notice how his blood is the key to Sky Haven.

I dunno. But if they could do it on purpose, why not just make a crapload of them? :{D~

Hell, if they made dragons, and also made people with the souls of dragons that can KILL dragons, I'd be like 'Well damn! I should put dragon souls in everything I make! Apparently my dragons with dragon souls svck...'

Akatosh is probably limited in how many he can send. It seems like there can't be more than a couple per era. Also, every Ysmir is also a divine avatar of Shezzar.. and he's probably limited in how many of those he can spawn.
