I'm a huge fan of the guy so there you go, he doesn't particularly dive anol-deep into the complicated storyline but rather views it from a more general perspective - and for the most part he nails it (as usual).
Remember this is a guy who seriously loves games which weave the story and gameplay together (and who doesn't?) so that through the whole game the player feels invested in the cause and emotionally attached to the characters and all the action going on.
Crysis 3 is another example of some of the mess-ups that current gen games do when it comes to handling story, exposition, narrative, etc carefully and using it to enhance gameplay. In Yahtzee's words, "gameplay should drive the car while the story navigates and picks the radio station".
This is most of the reason why Crysis 3 has received mediocre reviews. Cevat Yerli is convinced that this is the best game they have created to date with a better story, better characters, better gameplay, etc but I think he forgot that all those aspects have to COME TOGETHER properly to make a 10/10 game.
